LCD Projection – The Good, The Bad, and The Green

If you are an environmentally conscious individual, you’re probably thinking that there’s no way to reconcile your desire to leave a smaller carbon footprint with that big screen TV you’ve been dreaming about. Here’s where you’re wrong! LCD Projection models are environmentally friendly TV’s!

Here are all of the advantages to having purchasing an LCD Projection television over some of the other technologies currently available:

Advantages Of LCD Projection

• sharper picture quality, excellent for viewing sports or action movies – outstanding clarity
• Exceptional colour saturation gives you better brightness
• Light efficient technology is used, which gives you a brighter picture than with DLP televisions

Disadvantages Of LCD Projection

• Older LCD projection TV’s often demonstrate what’s known as a ‘chicken wire’ problem, or vaguely blurry picture. This issue has been all but resolved with the newer XGA and other high resolution TV’s
• A lower contrast ratio which means that visually, darker colors will be a little lighter than normal
• LCD panels are manufactured from organic materials, so they will degrade over time.
