Misgivings About The New Star Trek Movie

Having managed to acquire 2 tickets to the premiere of the new Star Trek Movie tomorrow night, I’ll be attending with some trepidation.

It’s never a good idea to mess with the mythology of heroes, even if those heroes only live on celluloid. And that may very well be what director J.J. Abrams has done with the “rebooted” Star Trek.

For those not overly familiar with The Original Series, this fresh approach to the characterisations of the crew of the Enterprise will not be an problem. For long-standing fans, it’s a whole other issue. Am I alone in my misgivings? Will J.J. Abrams pull it off?
