A survey conducted among the yeast-infected women confirmed that 44% of the women who were diagnosed with candidiasis had first treated with over-the-counter yeast infection medications. Yeast infection of vagina tend to occur more frequently in women who are under high degree of antibiotics, taking birth control pills, diabetic and not controlling their disease, or pregnant. Women with recurrent yeast infections may receive some form of a long-term preventative treatment and prolonged treatment at least for several weeks for perfect cure for yeast infection.
