Not everyone in America realizes that the classic science fiction TV show “Doctor Who” has returned to television after a sixteen year ‘hiatus’. Fortunately for Doctor Who fans across the globe, producer Russel T. Davies successfully brought the show back from the grave in 2005.

The fourth new season of the hit show will be beginning in April on the BBC, with the Sci Fi Channel here in the States following suit just a few weeks later. The fourth series features the 10th Doctor, David Tennant, who is rumored to be leaving the role either this year or the next.

Classic villains the Sontarans are confirmed to be returning for the fourth season (or the 30th, depending on how you’re counting!), and there are also rumors of the Axons turning up. We can also probably count on another return showing of the Daleks, as they have been in at least one episode of each season since Doctor Who’s revival. All in all, it’s an exciting time to be a fan of Doctor Who, the longest running Science Fiction show of all time. The TARDIS Databanks website is one place you can brush up on the show’s history, or discover it for the first time.
