How to Get Leveled Faster in the World of Warcraft

The World of Warcraft (WoW) is a huge virtual world, bigger than most all of the other Massive Multiplayer Online games (MMO.) This is a great thing for you, the player, in that just one character will never see it all, even if you do go from level one to the level cap (which will be 85 with the Cataclysm expansion.) With that size comes lots of things to do, plus arenas, battlegrounds, raids and dungeons, thousands of quests, and more.
If you want to level up as quickly as possible, possibly to join your higher level friends or get to the end-game content sooner, you might find the number of quests and objectives to be daunting. If you follow a few rules, though, you can greatly speed up your leveling, regardless of class or faction. The quickest way to get leveled, of course, is with a professionally created product, like the Zygor Guide, but that’s only for the people who really need to get to max level ASAP.
First off, realize what the time killers are. PvP is great fun (for many of us,) but it doesn’t help you get leveled. Shopping is also fun, especially if you have a full wallet, but it doesn’t get you to 80 any faster. Hanging out on the inn’s doorstep, lying about your exploits with your pals, spreading malicious rumors about the other faction, won’t get you to 80 or 85 any sooner. Not that you shouldn’t inform your buds as to what scum sucking slime the other side is, or that you shouldn’t slaughter them when you get a chance, just be aware of how much time you spend doing that.
There are a couple of ways to gain experience faster than the normal way. The first is “rest XP.” End your game session an Inn and when you come back to the game you will get the bonus XP. The longer you stay in the Inn then the longer the XP lasts. The other is World of Warcraft’s Refer a Friend program. What this does is link your account to your “friend’s” and then the two of you team up, kill together, and get 3x the normal experience points.
Besides the faster XP from Recruit a Friend, teaming will speed your leveling because, even though the basic XP gain is smaller, you will kill things much faster and have a lot less downtime. This gives you a big advantage over going solo. The catch, of course, is that you have to have a compatible partner, which is easier for some to find than for others.
For now just skip all of the crafting professions, since they’ll slow you down. If you have enough gold then go ahead and skip the gathering professions. The idea is to control anything that will slow you down. Selling your loot is one such example. Make a “banker” character, which will live at the Auction House (AH.) Then, instead of heading the big city to sell your better loot, just mail it to your banker. Log into the banker when you’re done and post your stuff on the AH. Make sure you always have the biggest bags that you can get your greedy little paws into. If you’re making it a point to loot things then the big bags will allow you to collect a lot more loot before having to return to the mailbox.
Be aware of what skills are coming up next (you can go to Thottbot.com for a list) and skip that trip to town to train if there’s nothing interesting coming up. Lots of people buy new gear every time they can, but you don’t need to do this. Every three to five levels is OK. Of course, certain classes can go alot longer without upgrades than others, Hunters, for one, but even the gear dependent (Warriors) don’t need to upgrade all the time.
Do quests instead of just grinding and group your quests. When you hit a new area grab all the quests you want and then group them by area. Several of the quests will take you “over there” so do all of those at the same time. If you’re going to hit a dungeon try to get as many dungeon quests as you can. If you want to go into the big city then save all your city quests for that time. The worst way to go is to do one quest that takes you all over the place, then hand it in and do another which hits the same areas.
Just by following a few easy steps and by organizing your time and how you do things you will greatly improve your leveling speed. An expert leveling guide will really speed things up, but even without one you’ll still have fun and be faster than most people. And isn’t that the point?
HBO and Starz Score with Cable TV Hit Shows

Some of the greatest programming ever seen on television comes from hit cable TV shows produced by HBO, Showtime and Starz! For the past twenty years or so, HBO (Home Box Office) has led the way with such cable TV shows as “The Sopranos”, a show which has won more Emmy Awards than any other cable TV show ever. Tony Soprano and his Mafia buddies really invented the no-holds barred, anything goes format that most subsequent cable TV shows have tried to emulate. Some have been successful and others not so much. Fickle public tastes notwithstanding, the reasons for some of these shows failures or successes have been much talked about and publicly scrutinized.
One of the best shows on HBO was never really a major “hit” but did pick up a lot of critical acclaim and that show was “The Wire” which was recently dropped after five great seasons. This show featured a group of detectives and the drug dealers they were chasing in the city of Baltimore, Maryland. Led by the great Dominick West and some fine writing, this show never failed to surprise and astound us with its fantastic and highly watchable episodes, week in and week out. It is not easy to keep up this level of superior writing, especially in an hour long show and for that many years in a row.
Another great HBO show that was cancelled after many seasons was “Six Feet Under” created by the great Alan Ball (American Beauty). That a show about people running a funeral parlor could be so compulsively watchable is a tribute to the great acting and writing that this program had for all of the years it was in existence.
Today, HBO presents such incredible fare as “True Blood” and “Treme”, two very different but equally impressive shows. “True Blood” is about a Southern town that is beset by vampires and other supernatural creatures. The premise of the show is that vampires have now assimilated into human society because humans created a synthetic blood which makes it unnecessary for vampires to kill humans in order to eat. Of course it turns out that this assumption is very naïve and when vampires start falling in love with humans, the trouble really begins. The main character is one Sookie Stackhouse and she is the one that falls in love with vampire Bill Compton, a vamp with a heart of gold. This is a great show and should not be missed.
Starz! has its own lineup of wonderful new shows including the bloody and ultra-sexy “Spartacus” which brings us the continuing saga of the title character as he is enslaved in a suburb of Rome, Capua, and forced to train as a gladiator in the local Ludis (gladiator training facility). This show is truly awesome and I dare anyone to watch more than two or three shows and not get totally hooked. Another great Starz! show is the very funny cable TV program called “Party Down” about a catering company in Hollywood filled with has-been or wannabe actors. Hilarious!

80s TV Shows: Memorable Moments

The 80s brought us the best and worst in television programming and for every series that was memorable we had two or three that were inane. Sometimes the inane and the memorable were one and the same. For every great TV show like “Growing Pains” we had to collectively put up with stupid but popular fare like “A-Team” which has now been turned into an equally ridiculous movie.
80s tv shows included some great sitcoms that stay with us to this very day. There were awesome and innovative shows like Taxi, which brought us the late great Andy Kaufman and introduced us to the great Danny DeVito who went on to movie fame in films such as “Ruthless People”. “Newhart” starred Bob Newhart (duh) and was a witty, hilarious, adult comedy that featured the droll humor of its sardonic star. “Cheers” brought us Woody Harrelson and other great stars. “Roseanne” starred the big-mouthed and obnoxious Roseanne Barr (later Roseanne Arnold) who, along with tv hubby John Goodman, brought a working class mentality to the genre which was appreciated by television watchers from all walks of life.
So who remembers the god-awful “Alf” featuring a foul-mouthed, wise-cracking muppet-like puppet from outer space? “Nightcourt” was good and so was “One Day at a Time” with the very young Michael J. Fox.
One of the biggest 80s TV shows of them all, and the most popular sitcom was the perennially number one “The Cosby Show” starring Mr. Jello Puddin’ himself, the great comedian Bill Cosby. The Huxtable family became a part of Anericana and brought a resurgence of ratings success to the once floundering network NBC. “The Cosby Show” broke a lot of ground in the way it treated delicate subject matter and paved the way for shows like “Seinfeld” and many others that followed.
“Dallas” was a serial-like primetime soap opera that became America’s favorite addiction. The mystery surrounding who shot villain J.R. Ewing swung the show’s ratings to new highs. Dallas was the first show of its kind and spawned a whole generation of copycats and tributes that followed such as “Knots Landing”, “Dynasty” and “Falcon Crest”.
One of the worst 80s TV shows was the horrible “Love Boat” which was only equaled in sheer stupidity by the brain-dead “Fantasy Island”. Both of them, not surprisingly, became number one shows and blew up all of the ratings. Any show that featured Zsa Zsa Gabor had to be bad. Herve Villechaise played the tiny Tatoo, assistant to Ricardo Montalban’s dapper Mr. Roarke, host of Fantasy Island.
Action shows also suffered from moronic writing and ideas. 80s TV shows like “The A-Team”, “The Dukes of Hazzard”, and “Knight Rider” were big on explosions and low on brain cells. Since America loves mediocrity, these shows were destined to become gigantic hits and they did.
There were also a bunch of detective shows like “Hill Street Blues”, “Cagney and Lacey”, “Matlock” and the top dog of all, “Magnum P.I.” starring the charming and handsome Tom Selleck.
In the end, 80s TV shows proved that you could have the best and the worst at the same time.

There are several reasons that I prefer having a prepaid mobile phone to a traditional service contract. For starters, with a prepaid mobile phone, I never get surprised by hidden charges or fees. This is a very important feature for anyone on a budget or for parents with teenagers in the house. How many times have we read news articles about a teen who unwittingly racked up a $1,000 bill due to excessive texting and a lack of understanding about monthly charges? If you want to eliminate that kind of risk, then you need an alternative to traditional contracts.

Have you ever had the frustration of not being able to watch your favorite tv show when it aired? Maybe you had to leave your house, maybe you had to go to work, or maybe you had an obligation to fulfill. Fact is this can be a major frustration.

Must-Have LG Cell Phone Accessories

It seems that everyone wants a smartphone these days, including me. What’s not to love about being able to browse the Internet, check and send e-mail, and work on MS Office documents and spreadsheets on your handset? The only question becomes which smartphone is the best one to get. I think it all comes down to a matter of taste, so I’m not here to debate the merits of the iPhone over a Blackberry, or vice versa. Personally, I went with an EnV Touch because of the price, and am currently looking for LG cell phone accessories to go with it.
One thing I absolutely love about my EnV Touch is the camera. This device features a 3.2 megapixel camera/video recorder that provides good quality snapshots. I can’t believe how other phones don’t even bother putting in a decent on-board camera, especially since more and more people use their devices to take pics that will then be uploaded to Facebook, blogs, and Flickr. But one problem with taking so many pictures is that the files eat up a lot of storage space, so one of the first LG cell phone accessories I have to buy is a MicroSD expansion card. Fortunately, I can get a 16GB card that should provide plenty of storage for my photos and videos.
Of course, there’s no point in having a smartphone if I don’t take advantage of the Internet browser to check out news headlines sports scores, social networking sites, and YouTube. In fact, I probably do more surfing from my handset than from my computer these days! This really drains the battery, though, so I’ll need to grab a car charger and maybe even a backup battery when I go shopping for LG cell phone accessories. There’s nothing worse than worrying about not having enough juice left to make an important call or send a critical email, so an extra charger is a must.
Other LG cell phone accessories I want to look into include a case or some kind of protective cover, an antenna booster, a Bluetooth headset, and a hands-free car kit. The cover will obviously protect my handset from scratches and other dings that are likely to come about with daily use, while the antenna booster will help me get a signal even if I happen to travel off the beaten path. The Bluetooth headset and hands-free car kit will allow me to make and take calls in a safe manner while driving, which is important for me because I have such a long commute to and from work.
It’s definitely going to cost some bucks to get all the LG cell phone accessories I want, but as I said, these extras are must-haves for the way I use my device. Hopefully I can find some sales or discounts on this stuff!
